Cachet text: "First Day of Issue", "Susan B. Anthony", "Pioneer Crusader for Women's Rights", "Birthplace Adams, Mass.", "1920 - 1970 50th Anniversary 19th Amendment to the Constitution", "Voting Rights for American Women". Stamp adhered at upper right: 6c "Woman Suffrage" "50th Anniversary". Postmarked at: "Adams, MA" Aug 26, 1970.
Historical NoteStamp celebrating the 50th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote in state and federal elections.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
