Physical DescriptionMoon Landing Stamp Souvenir Sheet and First Day Cancellation. Image of the Apollo 11 lunar plaque superimposed over an image of Armstrong and Aldrin on the moon. Stamp adhered at lower right: 10c "First Man on the Moon" stamp. Postmarked twice at: Washington DC - Sept 9, 1969, Moon Landing USA - July 20, 1969.
Historical NoteThis 10-cent moon landing stamp was postmarked on July 20, 1969 and September 9, 1969. It is attached to a First Day Cover sheet of the Apollo 11 lunar plaque superimposed over an image of Armstrong and Aldrin on the moon.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
