Physical DescriptionSpace Stamp Souvenir Sheet and First Day Cancellation. The cachet on the sheet is a space vehicle orbiting the moon and text of a prayer. Cachet text: "A Christmas Eve Prayer From Lunar Orbit". Stamp adhered at upper right: 6c Apollo 8 stamp. Postmarked at: Houston TX - May 5, 1969.
Historical NoteThis 10-cent Moon Landing stamp was issued on September 9, 1969. This first day cover comemmorates the Christmas Eve Prayer from Lunar Orbit, December 24, 1968.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
