Physical DescriptionGold and sapphire ring. A star sapphire cabachon in a gold setting. The setting and band have a relief design on each side featuring an elephant and rider.
Inscriptions and MarkingsStamped inside: "10K".
Historical NoteLady Bird Johnson received this gold and sapphire ring as a gift while visiting a lapidary in Bangkok, Thailand during the 1966 Asian trip. A lapidary is a business that cuts, polishes, or engraves gems.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
