Historical Note"San Pablo Oxtotepec" by Nicholas Moreno was sent to President Lyndon B. Johnson by His Excellency Adolfo Lopez Mateos, President of the United Mexican States on February 23, 1964, after a state visit. This painting represents an agave tequila (blue agave) plantation in southern Mexico.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to President Lyndon B. Johnson during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
