Physical DescriptionLacquered, footed wood box with multicolored mother-of-pearl & abalone inlay depicting opposing dragons and clouds on the lid, and dragons on sides.Historical NoteThis box was given to President Lyndon B. Johnson by His Excellency Park Chung Hee, President of the Republic of Korea during the Manila Summit in the Philippines. The Manila Summit was a gathering of 7 nations united in determination to secure the freedom of South Vietnam.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to President Lyndon B. Johnson during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
