Cachet text: "First Day of Issue", "Man's First Landing on the Moon", "July 20, 1969", "Apollo 11 Astronauts Armstrong - Collins - Aldrin". Stamp adhered at upper right: 10c "First Man on the Moon". Postmarked twice at: Washington DC - Sept 9, 1969 and Moon Landing - July 20, 1969.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "President Lyndon Johnson" "Johnson City, Texas".

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
