Physical DescriptionCommemorative Trans World Airlines Airmail Souvenir Sheet. Two pseudo envelopes attached as one sheet with cachets commemorating TWA's non-stop service between San Francisco and New York. One full sheet is a form letter addressed to "Philatelist" from a TWA executive. 7c Alaska Statehood stamp adhered. Postmarked twice at: San Francisco CA - March 20, 1959 and New York NY - March 21, 1959.
Inscriptions and MarkingsAddressed to: "Senator Lyndon B. Johnson", "Senate Office Bldg.", "Washington, D.C.".
Historical NoteSouvenir sheet issued by Trans World Airlines to advertise their direct air service from San Francisco to New York. Mailed to Senator Lyndon Johnson on March 21, 1959.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
