Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Two men (LBJ and Dean Rusk) poke thier heads from the White House and watch a man ("McNamara") running across the lawn, dodging bombs. Caption reads: "Good Man..Hasn't Missed a Cabinet Meeting Yet!". Artist signature lower left: "Poinier". Additional text at lower right: "Detroit News '66".

Historical NoteThe Antiwar Movement (1964-1973) emerged in response to the Vietnam War and included many activist groups such as the Students for a Democratic Society and the Yippies and used tactics such as mass demonstrations, sit-ins, teach-ins, and guerilla theater. Secretary of Defense McNamara was often the subject of anti-war speech.
