Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ as a cowboy smiles happily and sits on a saddle placed in his rocking chair. A gun belt and a hat (“10 gal.”) are slung over the back of the chair. Artist signature lower right: "Laszlo L. Bodrogi 1964”.
Historical NoteLyndon Johnson's Texas background was well known by the international community and he was perceived as fulfilling various Texan, Western, and cowboy stereotypes.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
