Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ, in his pajamas, peeks out the window through the blinds and talks on the telephone. On his bed, is a newspaper ("Resurrection City Permit Expires Today"). Underneath that paper is the comics section. Caption: “I Don't See a Soul Packing, Hubert. Can You See Any Movement from Where You Are?”. Artist signature lower right: "Brooks The Birmingham News”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower left: “-make 29 picas wide-”. Handwritten at lower right: “535” “-Sunday, June 23rd-, 1968”.
Historical NoteResurrection City was a temporary city in the National Mall in Washington DC from May to June 1968 as a part of the Poor People’s Campaign. While living there, demonstrators protested at federal buildings and brought attention to economic injustices.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
