Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ, dressed as a cowboy, sits on the fence of "S-M-L Ranch" talking to a sweating man (identifiable as Adlai Stevenson) who is wearing English riding clothes. In the corral behind them, is a bucking horse ("Johnson's '56 Legislative Program"). Caption reads: "Ride 'im Adlai...'The Eyes of Texas are upon you'!". Artist signature lower left: "Jim Berryman Washington Star."
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at top left corner: "3 cols - Sat - Nov. 26th"
Historical NoteDuring the 1956 election cycle, Dwight Eisenhower ran against Democrat Adlai Stevenson. Senator Lyndon Johnson was the Senate Majority Leader.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
