Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ and another man ("Rayburn") are dressed as cowboys and moving quickly in the direction of "To Peace and Harmony". While waving with one hand, LBJ and Rayburn catch an arm of a man ("Chairman Butler") with the other who is going the opposite direction. Artist signature lower right: "Jim Berryman Washington Star."
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across bottom: "Best to you, Lyndon - IT'S NICE TO BE "MARCHING ALONG ([underscore] TOGETHER)" ...."
Historical NotePaul M. Butler, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and figurehead of the liberal voting block during the 1950s, was often overruled by the team of Senate Majority Leader Johnson and Speaker of the House Rayburn on legislative issues.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
