Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A man ("Texas"), stands in front of his dry, cracked lawn and looks at his dripping water hose ("Texas River Flow") in despair. Next to him stands LBJ, who holds a book ("Gulf Basin Water Survey") and points to leaking holes in the hose causing water to spill into the gutter ("Gulf of Mexico"). LBJ says "There's your trouble, Friend!" Caption reads: "Spotting the Leaks". Artist signature lower right: "Dale."
Historical NoteWhen this cartoon was made, Senator Lyndon Johnson was the Senate Majority Leader.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
