Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Two large men ("Knowland" and "Johnson") are squeezing a small President Eisenhower as they quarrel about "Foreign Policy". Caption reads: "Can I interrupt boys, or is this a private matter?" Artist signature lower right: "Baldy Atlanta Constitution."
Historical NoteWilliam Knowland was the Senate Majority Leader with the Republican Party from 1953-1955. He was succeeded by Lyndon Johnson, the Democratic leader, and then became the Minority Leader from 1955-1956 and 1957-1959.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
