Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A donkey ("Senate Dems") holds up a curly tail ("Legislation To Date"). A large hog without a tail ("Hog-tied Legislation") is tied to a tree in the background. The hog’s snout looks like a short elephant truck. Caption: “Boy! Did I Bring Home the Bacon!”. Artist signature lower right: "Talburt”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "To Senator Lyndon Johnson with all the best wishes, from”. Stamped at upper right: “Jun 30 1955”.
Historical NoteWhen this cartoon was made, Senator Lyndon Johnson was the Senate Majority Leader.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
