Historical NoteWhen this cartoon was made, Senator Lyndon Johnson was the Senate Minority Leader. Lyndon Johnson was first elected to the Senate in 1948. During that campaign, he traveled in a helicopter to reach constituents in rural locations. At the time, many people had never seen a helicopter before.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
