Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Cowboy LBJ (“Tex Johnson of the ‘Cocky Donkey’ Ranch”) fires a pistol ("Budget challenge” “Dem. Civil Rights Programs") challenging Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon in front of a building ("Last Chance GOP Cafe") on the street ("Washington Leadership"). A flier (“Avoid inflation snake bite”) for a medicine (“Old Ike XXX”) hangs on the wall on the outside of the building and a sign (“Think”) hangs on the inside wall of the building. In the foreground, a short man (“Press”) dressed as a cowboy listens to a cat that says, “I just seen a democratic ‘liberal’ out thar with a bullet clear through his haid!”. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
