Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ eats a cracker covered with caviar ("Russian Disarmament Talks") and feels pain ("Berlin Pressures, Plane Snatching Incident") while chewing. A small piece of paper “McNaught Syndicate, Inc.” adhered to lower left. Caption: “​​Buckshot in the Caviar”. Artist signature lower right: "Reg Manning”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper right: "Regards to Pres Lyndon B. Johnson Reg Manning 11-23-68". Handwritten at lower center: [blue] “3 col” “Mailing”. Stamped at lower center: “Jul 4 1968”.
Historical NoteIn 1968, many nations met to discuss banning the spread of nuclear technology, resulting in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. France and China did not sign the treaty.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
