Historical NoteIn 1964, Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Revenue Act, which decreased income taxes. However, that led to an increase in spending by consumers and businesses. Along with government spending from the Vietnam War and Great Society, all of this increase of demand led to inflation. LBJ was pressued to raise taxes or cut government spending.Additional Details
