Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ is dressed as Santa with a bag of "More Goodies than Ever". He is held back by a bulldog ("War in Vietnam") holding Santa's coat in his mouth. Historical NoteThe Vietnam War elicited a lot of criticism for its high cost of life, financial costs, and diplomatic costs. Because of Vietnam War spending, the Great Society programs needed to be cut back.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
