Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ kills insects ("Threats to continuous prosperity") with a spray gun. Behind him a large child ("5th Year of the Boom") holds a spoon and smiles. Nearby, another spoon sits next to two Rx bottles. Artist signature lower right: "Dowling." Additional text at lower center: "1965, Publishers Newspaper Syndicate".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper left: "To President Johnson from an admirer Dan Dowling NY Herald Tribune". Handwritten at upper right: "Daily". Handwritten across bottom: "Trib Ed Page Daily" "Syndicate" "3 3/4 wide".

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
