Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A man ("Congress") holds a mallet ("Election Year") over the controls for bomb-shaped contraption ("Budget") with various attachments sticking out, including a watering can, a flower pot (“Schools”) that the water is falling upon, a cup (“Poverty”), an American flag, and a pulley (“Urban Needs”). LBJ looks dismayed. Caption: “Soon as I Bash a Few Bugs in Your Invention, We'll Be in Business”. Artist signature lower right: "Fischetti”. An additional piece of paper “© 1968 Chicago Daily News Publishers-Hall Syndicate” adhered to lower right. An additional piece of paper “Fischetti” adhered to upper left.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
