Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Surgeon LBJ holds up a huge knife. The knife and other tools are in a box ("'Little Dandy' Do-it-yourself Home Surgery Kit"). The patient ("Budget") appears frightened. Caption: “Now It's MAH Turn!”. Artist signature lower left: "Bob Stevens”. An additional piece of paper “Copley Newspapers” adhered to lower left.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper right: "To our President with best wishes, Bob Stevens". Handwritten at lower right: [blue] “Mon. Dec. 5th”.
Historical NoteIn 1967, the budget increased funding for the Vietnam War and reduced funding for the Great Society. President Johnson also discussed plans to reduce the budget deficit.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
