Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. With an empty basket on his arm, a man hangs onto the horns of a bucking bull ("Inflation"). LBJ is sitting on the corral fence watching. Caption: “Let Me Know When He Throws You!”. Artist signature lower left: "L. D. Warren”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower center: “33 ½ picas” “Wed 8 Dec 65”. Handwritten at center left: [red] [illegible] “12/3/65”.
Historical NoteWhen Lyndon B. Johnson signed the 1964 Revenue Act that decreased income taxes and refused to raise taxes, spending by consumers and businesses increased. Along with government spending, all of this increase of demand led to inflation.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
