Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. With Russian architecture seen from the window, a furious man sits at a desk and yells at a man standing in front of him. The man at the desk is wearing a hammer and sickle lapel pin, and has photos, film, a light box and a microscope on his desk. The other man looks upset as he holds his hat. Caption reads: "More Stuff on U.S. Military Installations! - Where's the Picture of Luci's Wedding Gown?". Artist signature lower right: "© 1966 Herblock The Washington Post".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across bottom: "To President and Mrs. Johnson With all best regards from Herb Block". Handwritten across top: "More Stuff on U.S. Military Installations! - Where's the Picture of Luci's Wedding Gown?". Handwritten at upper left: [upside down] "7-22-66".
Historical NoteOn August 6, 1966, Luci Johnson married Patrick Nugent at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception with a reception ceremony at the White House. The marriage was televised and highly reported on.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
