Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A portrait of Lady Bird is in front of buildings and landscape. A banner ("Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson / Peoria County Courthouse Dedication") is in front of her. To the side, a tree with a large root ball ("Sept. 22, 1965") has a shovel leaned against it. Caption: “Honored by Her Presence”. Artist signature lower left: "Immel”.
Historical NoteIn September 1965, Lady Bird Johnson went to Peoria, Illinois for the dedication of the Peoria County Courthouse. Part of the ceremony included the planting of a cherry tree.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
