Historical NoteIn May 1968, Charles de Gaulle was called to step down from power and he resigned in April 1969. Also in April 1969, Terence O'Neill, the Prime Minister of Northern Ireland resigned from his role. These resignations happened only months after Lyndon Johnson left the presidency and retired to his ranch.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
