Historical NoteHarold Wilson, the prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1964-1970, did not offer military aid to the United States during the Vietnam War, but he did not condemn American actions. From 1963-1966, Indonesia opposed the creation of Malaysia, leading to battles in the border between the two nations. The United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations supported Malaysia.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
