LBJ is a baseball pitcher speaking with another man (“Wilson”) on how to pitch with another team ("Arabs") who has a man (identifiable as Gamel Abdel Nasser) on a base. Wilson says, “Let’s make the next batter hit into a double play” “Back up third if there’s a bunt -” “What’s the new signal for, an inside fastball?” “Don’t let him get too big a lead” “How many outs?” “How about the pick-off play?” “What’s his record on stolen bases?” “Be sure to cover the plate in case of a wild pitch-”. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
