Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ holds a suitcase ("LBJ Tour") while riding in a kangaroo's pouch. The kangaroo ("Australia") calls out "Cheers" and "Jeers". Caption: “Having His Ups and Downs”. Artist signature lower right: "Hungerford”.
Historical NoteIn 1966, Lyndon Johnson went on a trip to various countries in Asia and the Pacific, including New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea. A preliminary sketch of the cartoon is on the back.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
