Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ pats the shoulder of a man ("Red Hungary") who carries a sickle, and hands him a case ("New US Embassy"). LBJ says, "Because you hate me so much I'm going to reward you.". Caption: “​​This is Logic?”. Artist signature lower right: "Warren King”.

Historical NoteIn November 1966, the American legation in Hungary was raised to the status of embassy.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
