Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ sits in his office reading a newspaper ("Confusion, Accusations") as the TV behind him broadcasts ("Premature Announcements”, “False Reports"). Through the window, another man (“Kosygin”) sits in his office reading a newspaper (“Rumor”, “Distortion”). The phones (“Hot Line”) ring in both offices. Caption: “​​Saved by the Bell”. Artist signature lower right: "Le Pelley”.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
