Historical NoteIn June 1968, a poll taken found that about a third of Americans considered the United States to be a sick society. This number was higher among Black Americans than white Americans and in April of 1968, the day before his assassination, Martin Luther King Jr. used the term “sick,” bringing it into the public eye.Additional Details
