Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ, driving a huge convertible ("Great Society"), has pulled into a gas station but needs a megaphone to speak to the attendant at the back of the car. Caption reads: "Just a Dollar's Worth of Regular!" Artist signature lower right: "Scott Long Minneapolis Tribune".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "To LBJ - With best wishes - Scott Long" "51".
Historical NoteThe Johnson Administration submitted 87 bills to Congress, and Johnson signed 84, or 96%, arguably the most successful legislative agenda in US congressional history.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
