Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Humphrey (H.H.H.) stands by LBJ's desk while an oversized cowboy hat sails through the air and lands on his head. Caption reads: "Y'all Wear That While I'm Sick, Hubert". Artist signature lower right: "Don Hesse St. Louis Globe Democrat".
Historical NoteOn October 8, 1965, President Johnson underwent gallbladder surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Vice President Hubert Humphrey was a liberal Democrat from Minnesota that co-founded Americans for Democratic Action.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
