Historical NoteThe Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum opened in 1971, two years after Johnson left office. The LBJ Library holds Johnson’s presidential records. It is located on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
