Historical NoteIn 1966, Lyndon Johnson went on a trip to various countries in Asia and the Pacific, including New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea. Back in the United States, the midterm elections were approaching.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
