Historical NoteIt is well known that President Johnson liked to exercise by swimming, but he also took to walking around the White House backyard – much to the consternation of the White House Press Corps. He liked to use the time allotted for press sessions to get his daily exercise in, often followed by a gaggle of perspiring reporters.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
