Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ points toward the nearby White House as he answers questions in front of a group of men and children. Caption reads: " ...In the Front Door...Up the Stairs...First Door on the Right...Next Question...". Artist signature lower left: "Conrad © The Los Angeles Times '64". Additional text lower right: "1964, The Register and Tribune Syndicate".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across bottom: "With best regards to President Lyndon B. Johnson - Paul Conrad". Also handwritten across bottom: "Edit cartoon 5/10 - 5 1/4". Handwritten at lower right: [in red] "45" "30".
Historical NoteLyndon Johnson was very involved with the media, but unlike Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy, he had less televised news conferences and more informal interviews. President Johnson paid close attention to the media as well and kept three televisions in the Oval Office.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
