Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A group of cartoonists, numbered 1 through 6, gathers around picture of LBJ ("The San Marcos Flash"). Cartoonist 1 says, "OK you Rembrandts - here's our theme song for the next eight yearsso sing it loud an' clear" In the back ground is a large gold frame ("Martin Anderson Owner Publisher Editor in Chief Chief Cartoonist") and a portrait of a man ("Charles Marsh"). Caption reads: "Briefing the Worktroops on the Latest Word from the High Command" Artist signature lower left: "Lynn Brudon Orlando Sentinel '64."
Historical NoteLyndon Johnson liked political cartoons of himself and invited political cartoonists and other press correspondents to his ranch for barbecues in 1964.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
