Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Four men are in an office ("Press Room LBJ Ranch"). One types at a table, one reads a paper ("Moyers says...") from the bulletin board, one enters the room, and one answers the phone. Caption reads: "Hello...God's Country". Artist signature lower left: "Fischetti".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "For President Johnson with warm regards - John Fischetti 12/2/65". Handwritten across bottom: "2 cuts for Daily 2/2/65" "- 5 7/16" 7 5/16" - " "Hold caption" " Proofs to Art - 5th Floor". Handwritten at upper right: "3 & 4 cols. -" "[in purple] 1".
Historical NoteLyndon Johnson was very involved with the media, but unlike Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy, he had less televised news conferences and more informal interviews. President Johnson paid close attention to the media, even as he conducted presidential business at the LBJ Ranch in Texas. Bill Moyers was the White House Press Secretary from 1965-1967.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
