Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Smiling figures ("Uno Who", Uncle Sam (U.S), an elephant, and a donkey) hold a "Get well quick, Lyndon!" poster as they stand at the foot of a hospital bed. Caption reads: "Visitors to see you, Mr. President". Artist signature lower right: "Reg Manning [drawing of a cactus]". Additional text at lower right: "McNaught Syndicate, Inc.".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper right: "To President Johnson, with fervent best wishes for his good health" "Reg Manning [drawing of a cactus] 10/10/65". Handwritten at lower left: "3 col". Handwritten and stamped at bottom center: "Oct 7 - 1965 Mailing".
Historical NoteOn October 8, 1965, President Johnson underwent gallbladder surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital.
