Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Man with a beret, a scruffy beard, and glasses with "ADA" on his shirt jumps on a teeter-totter board ("Anti-Johnson Plank") sending a man with boots "Lyndon Johnson's Stock" flying up from the other end. Caption reads: "Pretty Good Sendoff". Artist signature lower left: "Cal Alley".
Historical NoteThe Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) is a liberal organization founded by Eleanor Roosevelt, Hubert Humphrey, and other prominent liberals that supported John F. Kennedy and initially supported Lyndon B. Johnson's domestic policies, but opposed Johnson's role in the Vietnam War.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
