Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. An elephant is walking down highway ("US 64") with a giant cowboy hat ("LBJ") covering everything but his legs and trunk. Caption reads: "Traveling under Difficulties". Artist signature lower right: "Gib Crockett Washington Star".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper left: "3 cols - Sunday May 24 '64".
Historical NoteDuring the 1964 election cycle, the Democratic Party was mostly united under Lyndon B. Johnson.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
