Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Cowboy LBJ rides a donkey, roping the entire US ("USA for LBJ") in a lasso. Artist signature lower right: "RA Lewis Milwaukee Journal”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper right: “11/4/64”. Stamped at upper right: [blue] “12714”.
Historical NoteDuring the 1964 election cycle, Lyndon B. Johnson ran as the Democratic candidate and defeated Republican Barry Goldwater in a landslide.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
