Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ is a hunter aiming his gun ("Politics") at a sign ("Hint that he might be drafted"). Near the sign, a U.S. Capitol dome with wings flys away. LBJ says, "I'm not aiming at the White House - But --". Caption reads: "Ricochet Bullet?". Artist signature lower right: "Ferman Martin."
Historical NoteSenator Lyndon Johnson ran for president in 1956, but lost the nomination.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
