Historical NoteThe Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) is a liberal organization founded by Eleanor Roosevelt, Hubert Humphrey, and other prominent liberals that supported John F. Kennedy and initially supported Lyndon B. Johnson's domestic policies, but opposed Johnson's role in the Vietnam War.
