Historical NoteEugene McCarthy and Robert F. Kennedy were both antiwar candidates during the 1968 Democratic primaries, who differed on policy from Lyndon Johnson, thus making it difficult for all three to fit on the same donkey. Nelson Rockefeller was a candidate from New York and a part of the liberal wing of the Republican Party. The 1968 Democratic National Convention was held in Chicago, where Hubert Humphrey would secure the nomination.Additional Details
