Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A bird with the head of LBJ ("LBJ Earlybird Campaigning") is on the White House lawn appraising two worms (“68”), one with the head of a donkey and one with the head of an elephant. Caption: “Another Johnson Bird”. Artist signature lower left: "Reg Manning”. A small piece of paper “McNaught Syndicate, Inc.” adhered to lower center.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at center right: "Howdy President Lyndon Johnson -Reg Manning 7-21-67". Handwritten at lower center: [blue] “3 col” “Mailing”. Stamped at lower center: “Jul 3 1967”.
Historical NotePresident Johnson was up for his second term during the 1968 election, but he would later withdraw from the race on March 31, 1968.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
